FRAMELESS CABINETRY

Transition is a frameless cabinet line that utilizes modern construction and contemporary design to greatly increase cabinet access and storage space.  Frameless cabinets are a European style cabinet construction that has recently grown in popularity in America.  The cabinets are called frameless due to the removal of the standard cabinet construction face frame attached to the front of the cabinet.  The face frame is used to provide strength and structural integrity of the product.  It is also used as the mounting location for door hinges and drawer glides.  Frameless cabinetry uses a reengineered cabinet box to compensate for the design change of the face frame removal.  Door hinges and drawer glides are attached directly to the interior wall of the cabinet.

Transition cabinetry comes standard with full-overlay, soft-close doors and drawers and full extension dovetail drawers.  The drawer boxes are constructed with 5/8” solid hardwood sides and ¼” plywood bottoms while the cabinet box construction utilizes both dadoed and doweled and glued joinery. With the increased drawer width and usable height space, the full-access drawers give up to 60% more storage space than standard framed cabinetry allowing room for larger items like pots and pans.  In addition, the base cabinets come with full-depth adjustable shelves instead of half depth shelves found on traditional cabinetry.  Transition frameless wall cabinets have on average 26% more accessibility and have no center stiles to give unobstructed and easy access to the entire cabinet.  It’s no wonder why frameless cabinetry has become a growing interest here in the United States.
